St Patricks Day

On 17th March it was St Patricks Day. Year six had to dress up in green because they were raising money for Ghana for the school in Accra. We had to bring one pound if we dressed up, some people didn't dress up so they didn't donate money for Ghana. We want to help children that don't have anyone to look after them.

Letters From the Children in Accra,Ghana

As you know year 6 have been selling cereals to raise money for the school in Accra, Ghana.

In return, as a thank you, some of the children wrote letters to us, telling us what they like to play, what they like to eat and who their friends are.

Year 6K had a photo taken to show the children who we are.

We are also going to try and raise more money by making fruit salads and selling them for 20p. Hopefully this will help build another floor for a classroom.

Gymnastics

In St Gregory's Primary, 9 children were picked to do gymnastics at Thomas Becket sports school. We had 3 different activities with Thorplands Primary, Isaac won the 1st activity and Misha, Ellice and I won the 2nd activity. Thorplands and St Gregorys got certificates and the winners got individual certificates !

Moc SATS

6C following 6K are getting ready for the Mock SATs. Revising and learning on different things they're going to do in their real SATs. Mock SATs are practise SATs, they are just to see where the child is in his level and what he/she needs to achieve. For all the kids who are reading this there is NO need to panic - it's pretend SATs but keep on revising and listening in school!

Our Secondary Schools

Year 6 have got their result of which schools they are going to. Some children are going NSG, Thomas Becket, Moulton, NSB and Weston Favell. We are all excited about which school we are going to. I feel pleased because i am going to NSG, and some of my friends are going to. I feel a little bit sad because my little brother will be alone and he will miss me. By AS

Plastic footballs

Year six were making footballs out of plastic bags. This lady came to us to talk about recycling, her name was Heather. After we made the footballs we tested them out to see which was the best one, we were put in to groups of 4 or 5. We had to kick the footballs 6 times. Only one person won out of each group the winners were Timi, Amanda, Harshita and Jakub.

It is Fairtrade fortnight for the next two weeks and year 6 are going to try to beat the world record for making the longest row of bunting. The world record to beat is 4,350 and everyone has to decorate a triangle shape piece of bunting with writing and a picture. I will be so proud if we break the world record for the longest piece of bunting. LETS DO THIS ST.GREGS!!
