Fairtrade Bunting Update

St. Gregory's Primary took part in the Fairtrade Foundation World Record Attempt to make the longest piece of bunting - all Fairtrade decorated of course! Every class in every year group, including Nursery and Reception had a go at making some bunting which we hung up in school for the duration of our 'Fairtrade Fortnight' term.

All key stage 2 bunting was sent to the Fairtrade Foundation as part of their World Record Attempt. The fantastic news is that they achieved their target! The result has been submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records, more on that when the result comes in.

Well done to the whole school!!

From the Fairtrade Steering Group.

Fairtrade Fortnight

Fairtrade Fortnight 2011

On 1st March we had a Fairtrade sale where we bought Fairtrade chocolate, drinks and many more fairtrade stalls selling other things! We had our photo taken for the Chronicle and Echo newspaper. This is because our school was participating in Fairtrade Fortnight. We also had a Big Brew where we gave Fairtrade coffee and tea to the parents to see if they liked it so if they liked it they could buy more Fairtrade coffee and tea.

Fairtrade Fortnight

Fairtrade Fortnight begins this week, so this is a chance to find out about what Fairtrade is and what we can do to help. There will be an assembly and a chance for parents to find out more at the Big Brew. There will also be some activities in school. In the meantime, find out what you know about Fairtrade by trying out this quiz from CAFOD. Click on the link below to have a go!
