RM maths

In RMaths it helps us focus on our maths and if we complete it then we go on to smart kiddies it helps us with all sorts of maths and mostly helps with:

. ADDITION

.SUBTRACTION

.DIVISION

.MULTIPLICATION

RMaths and smart kiddies gives a boost and helps us know what we need to know.
Thank you very much, Misha J

Hotshots

Hotshots is a club on in the mornings on Friday and Monday every week. I have been going to Hotshots for nearly 2 years and I am now a Senior. We have played a lot of tournaments and still play tournaments against other schools. There is another tournament coming up and I have confidence we will win. In Hotshots you can win player of the month and player of the year plus much more. We have played against the Arbours, Roade, Boothville, all at Danes camp.

report writing

In 6c we are writing about reports. Me and my partner are doing about crop creeps. That is about the 4 crop circles that appeared near a church in Puds Woods and Mr.Puds thinks it is the work of children in need and now we have to write it in a script style.

Year 6 News Reports.

6c have been working and thinking what to write for their news reports. Tension rises as they forget capital letters, comma full stop etc. etc. The writers try and please their teacher by using words like 'juxtapose' or 'overwhelmed' even 'incomprehensible'.

On January 20th 2011 the young writers plan out their reports and get ready to publish and put it on the wall for all to see. Some or all of them recorded it, and the CD was put in a bag and hanged on the wall.

We all heard our voices on the recorder and laughed at the different voices.

After this brilliant idea on recording, Mr.Clowes thought different. Instead of hearing it on the recorder he wanted to hear it by them reading it.

Mr.Clowes enjoyed the story's and was pleased with everyone, It all paid off.
Next is poems.

new year

In year 6 we have started learning about Africa, our art work has been great with our watercolours. Also, the Comenius party are coming to our school we are learning all the national anthems so we can sing to them !!!!!!!! The Comenius party is a group of people from different schools around Europe.

In year 6 in English we have been writing reports on lots of different subjects, it's partly hard because you can't be opinionated. Also now we will be starting to do poems which will be very fun.

Also, I have recently been made a prefect and my duties are to keep everyone out of the corridors and to make sure everyone is quiet in assembly.

Notes From Old Friends: Adam Skelding

Hello to everyone at St Gregory's!
I have really settled into Thomas Beckett, it took me a couple of weeks to get used to it and to stop getting lost !!!

There are 5 kids from St Gregory's in my class, so you definitely feel like you are among friends.

We have a really nice Form teacher, Mr Kilpin, who is new to the school too. He is the new Head of Design & Technology.

I am enjoying science, english, technology, humanities (history/geography) and food tech, I have made fruit salad, fruit smoothies, apple crumble and jam tarts and haven't poisoned anyone yet!!! LOL.

I have made loads of new friends and am enjoying all the new subjects especially design & techology as we get to use drills, saws, files and vices and I haven't maimed anyone or myself yet!! LOL. I can just see Mr Clowes & Mrs Keating shaking their heads in wonder at this.

Hope you are having a great time and enjoying St Gregorys, it is all very different here but still good fun.
Bye for now.
