Northampton life educational bus

This year we had another visit from the Northampton life educational bus, this time learning about drugs. One by one children from diffrent classes came to find out why drugs are bad for your health.
This is what we learned:
Not to take lots of drugs in a roll which is called overdose.
Only take things that have ingredients,or it might be something your allergic to.
Never smoke even if you think it cool it could take 7 minutes of your life.

Fair Trade Sale

On Thursday, we had the Fair Trade people in our school to sale chocolate, biscuits, fruit bags etc. Most people brought over 60p but the white milk chocolate was delicious!I also enjoyed the Fair Break they were small, but good. I particularly hated the queue! It was horrendous there was so much children and just a few things but we all managed to share.

Visit to Tesco

St Gregory's Primary went to Tesco recently, as a Tesco 'thank you' for collecting so many vouchers in the 'Equipment for Schools' campaign.

Tesco Store Manager

"This is the second year we've been doing 'Equipment for Schools'... before that we were doing 'Computers for Schools'... There is a new vision for Tesco... it's not a small aspiration...there is payback for us as it increases loyalty.

Thanks for collecting!"

Michael Ellis MP

"I'm focussed on doing anything we can to help our young people and communities here in Northampton. One of the issues we do face is the difficult economic times and large companies like Tesco do have corporate responsibilities and are exercising that responsibility in the work they do for our children in schools."

Lauren (pupil)

"I enjoyed myself immensely. We got something to eat as well as getting a party bag and a toy of our choice from a penguin, Santa, or a snowman. We went because St. Gregory's had collected a lot of Tesco vouchers for schools and so Ellie, Frank, Mr MacMorrow and I were invited. We all went along and our Head Governor, Mrs Behan, joined us. Moulton School and Arbours School were also there."

Football News

This year the Year 6 football team have been extremely successful, not losing a game all season. Thus, qualifying for the county play-off finals. The team would like to thank Mr Brennan for being an excellent coach to us. All the team played really well in every game, I.A. scored 13 goals, Shayne scored 11 goals, C.B. scored 6 goals, Fernando scored 6 goals and mighty Timi scored 1 goal, making 36 goals altogether.

The player that got most of the 'Man-of-the-Match's was Shayne. The captain, I.A., displayed a great performance in every game as well as all the other players. We thank our solid defence, Samuel, Timi and J.C. The amazing goalkeeper, W.H., made many great saves and kept clean sheets, he only let 3 goals in all season.

Finally, the team would like to request a NEW FOOTBALL KIT that is equal to the quality of the football they can produce.... Many thanks!

Our visit to Twickenham

Going to Twickenham, London, was a very fun experience. We listened carefully to The Pope as he was speaking about "To Live Life To The Full" and preaching the words of Cardinal Newman "Heart Speaks Unto Heart". Also they sponsored CAFOD which is our school charity. We enjoyed the company of Blue Peter presenter Andy who presented it in a fun way, and listening to two choirs that sung for The Pope. We are grateful that our head teacher asked us if we would like to come.

Cool Science at School

Cool Science Presentation

The 'Cool Science' Presentation was a favourite for our children. We watched balloons suspended above a hairdryer and found out about how different gases react with materials. Click on our link above to view the photos at the Google Gallery.

A Virtual Tour

In Geography, we are proudly presenting a Virtual Tour of St.Gregory's Catholic
Primary School. It's very hard and complicated, but we enjoy it and have fun creating hyperlinks etc. I particularly enjoy inserting photos of our school badge and the rooms as well.

I really find it hard working with a partner because sometimes we don't agree to the same things and its so fustrating! Besides that, my
partner gives me lots of enjoyable company and conversations.
