My Last Time At Blog Club

My Penultimate Week At St Gregorys

In a week's time I am leaving to go to Africa and I am not coming back till the end of July. So all the fun that is going to be happening I will miss but do not worry I will have my own fun so here is B.S signing off for the penultimate time. Also my best friend (H.P.) is leaving to go on holiday for a week and will not be here when I leave!

Yes SATs are over!

Yes the SATs are over we can sit back and relax. It's getting closer and closer to our new school and I wish all the luck to everyone including OO and BK! Can't wait till we have our party, the culture show and sports days on the 18th of June! Thank you to all the teachers that helped us get through these SATs.

The Diamond Jubilee

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee is not far away and very, very important because Queen Elizibeth II is ONLY the second queen to reign for 60 years!!! As Queen Victoria was the first!

This year we will be celebrating the Queen's 60 years on the throne. In the school there is bunting of the Union flag around the whole building and in every year group everyone is learning about the Queen.

Facts about the queen:

Queen Elizabeth II reigned England for 60 years.
Her father was King George VI.
The queen owns two dogs.

2012 Olympics

This year is 2012, and you know what that means, the 2012 Olympics which will be held in London. During this august event, hundreds of sporting activities will be occuring during this period such as boxing, swimming, gymnastics, cycling, running, relay, javelling, hammerthrow & and many others. Please tune in and don't forget to buy your tickets or watch it on TV.

T.H here and it's not long 'till y6 have to take our S.A.Ts. We have been practising all week in different ways like revising and doing different activities. All the same we have a lot of work to do. Most of us are running around preparing for S.A.Ts but others are concentrating on other things.

Since Mr.MacMorrow has retired we have a new head teacher, Mrs.Turner. We welcome her into our school family. We hope she has already been impressed with us and all the work and displays around the school.

we will miss you mr mcmorrow

sad news everyone, our favourite school head teacher has retired but he will always still be with us in our hearts.we have got anew head teacher who is still always nice to us. even as nice as mr macmorrow.

3 Weeks To SATS

After 2 weeks of holiday it is 3 weeks to SATS and I am ready for anything they throw at me. This should faze people but not me because I revised and have tried to listen in class but have been finding it difficult. I have been trying to making it up for it at home. I think that I should do pretty well. B.S

After School Holiday :)

A.H: We're back.. back from a 2 week break. I'm glad to be back and I have applied for a role of a prefect. We have a new head teacher the marvelous Mrs Turner. We are all sad Mr McMorrow has gone but Mrs Turner is really nice too.

In science we are working on dissolving. My experiment is very strange i wanted to see what chemicals will dissolve gravy granules quickest - Tizer, fizzy drink or milk.

Fairtrade Producers Visit the UK

St. Gregory's Catholic Primary School took part in Fairtrade Fortnight at the beginning of March. The theme this year was 'Take a Step for Fairtrade'. Children across the whole school designed and coloured their own 'footsteps' to remind us how important fair trading is to poorer communities and how we can all make a difference.

On Wednesday 14th March a brass band had a recital at our school.

There were five members in the band, one played tuba, another played the french horn, there was a trombone and two trumpets.

At the end they played Robbie Williams' "Let me entertain you".

Fairtrade

Over these two weeks Cafod have been raising money to help people in Africa to get water. Also, we might be having a sweet sale from them. Year six have been cutting raindrops and asking world leaders to change Africa. We will be doing lots of sales between now and the end of the year.

Candy Shop

In I.C.T we are doing spreadsheet for our own tuck shop we are planning to make predictions for it is going to turn out. My team is called team skip we are planning our sales to see what will happen when we buy certain things. I think this sale will be good.

Marie Curie Day!!!

Heyya it's team Jupiter here, and we just want to tell you that it is Maric Curie Day on the 10th on Friday 2012. Remember to try and come in yellow and come in mufti! Also, remember to bring in a pound for charity.

Mad Scientist

Yesterday in our hall we had some lovely visitors to our school ,well not so lovely but MAD. They did some experiments with them. They were very magnificent and exciting to watch. With toxic Tom and jupiter Jewels

MAD SCIENCE!!!!!

Hi everybody it is M.B. and I am here to tell you about the Mad Science we had on Wednesday and it was so much fun!!! Many people got picked to be the volunteers, but my favourite volunteer was S.P. because she was an awesome helper and she got picked for a really cool trick which made the school really excited!!! The assembly was all about the Olympics and science!!!

I will keep you posted with all the news I have.

Cake Sale!!!!

Hi its S.P here we had a cake sale for J.K.S's sister. This is because we are sending the money to a charity for his sister who has a problem with her heart, and we sold lots of cakes. We even had Amy there with us which was even better. We hope we raised enough money! Remember we still have a sale after school so save your money!
