skip hop

When we first found out we was going to do skip hop I was terrified because i simply couldn't skip properly, but on the day, I was surprised wit myself I was brilliant I could skip, that was definitely a day to remember so that's why I thought to spread the news never say never, never say you can't do there's a time for everything! JCA.

The Fun Run

Today we are having a fun run for the charity Change the Unchanged, this is were we build houses for the children of India. KS2 have to do a minimum of 10 laps and we get to wear fun clothes such as tutus, hula skirts and fairy wings. Also the top three people who raise the most sponsor money will get a prize, our target is £1500.00. This means every person only has to raise £4.00 which we can easily top.

My Parrot Manic Day

It was perfectly normal day until I came out of school.

I had asked my brother where mum was and he said there was a parrot trying to land on a teacher heads and then it landed on the fence. She had gone over and told the parrot to step on her hand and it did as my mum said. We took it home in a big box and asked a friend to bring her extra parrot cage round as she had a spare one. We phoned every pet shop in Northampton and there was nothing we looked on nearly every parrot or lost pet site but nothing was to be found the one the person from the parrot society called and said that they found the owner, me and my brother were gutted we loved the parrot. The owners came round and they were really nice people. We still miss Liala ( parrot ).

Fairtrade Fortnight

Fairtrade Fortnight 2011

Click on the link above to view the album.

On 1st March we had a Fairtrade sale where we bought Fairtrade chocolate, drinks and many more fairtrade stalls selling other things! We had our photo taken for the Chronicle and Echo newspaper. This is because our school was participating in Fairtrade Fortnight. We also had a Big Brew where we gave Fairtrade coffee and tea to the parents to see if they liked it so if they liked it they could buy more Fairtrade coffee and tea.

Skip Hop!

Throughout the weeks, St.Gregory's have been attending "skip hop," we learnt all kinds of techniques about skipping, with our coach, Johnny. Everyone enjoyed the company of Johnny and had an amazing time! I found it quite difficult and enjoyable at the same time because, i had learnt things that I never seen before... Like, skipping with your hand holding your leg and jumping over the rope. Also, I think it was for the benefit of us learning new things and becoming fit. The next thing we had to do was, that we had to jump in the middle of the skipping rope while it was swaying, pay attention to the cross on the floor and jump through it, but at the same time we had to run through it, and jump.. So it was quite tricky.

letters from Ghana

Letters from Ghana

When year 6 were raising money for Ghana we recieved letters from the children that came from the school in Accra. When we got them we couldn't read them very well because they normally speak and write in Ghanian but, there where lovely pictures and a nice border around it. We got letters from Ghana because Lucy went to Ghana and helped in a school in Accra.

African Masks

In Year 6, we are presenting African Masks in our Display in the Topic, "Africa" We are learning about Africa in Geography, English and History, I really enjoy learning about the different Cultures and Traditions and comparing them to England. I am also very intrested into the WildLife, I love Nature and WildLife and wouldn't mind experimenting being in a Safari surrounded by all sorts of WildLife.

Others suggested that they love the texture and the amount of effort the artist puts into it. I particularly like the "Punu Mask" and the "Woyo Mask" becuase it's amazingly colourful and enthusiastic.
