Science - Wash Your Hands!

In science we did a science experiment on micro-organs with Mrs Goodmen. It was so cool we had to rub a cream that makes our skin glow if it has germs or micro-organs. We also got given ranks such as:
  • A=Your hands are really clean and it has no germs or micro-organs and dont need cleaning

  • B=Your hands need cleaning but they do have some micro-organs and germs

  • C=You need to clean your hands at least 3 times for them to have no germs and for at least 3 minutes

When I tried my hands where really dirty they had lots of germs and micro-organs. I hated it, they where glowing under this light. Unfortunately, I got a C so I went to clean my hands for ages and 3 times, I kept coming back it was awful but fun. Finally, I came back and Mrs Goodman said "You've got an A well done" I was so happy the lesson was fun and enjoyable! By AB

(And don't forget to wash your hands every now and again!)

Detective Stories

We have been doing detective stories. We had some different detectives to choose from they were: Poirot, Sherlock Holmes, Nancy Drew and Sam Spade. We all choose different ones then, the the people who choose the same one sat in a group started to plan the plot. There were five groups. Sherlock was popular. We all tried our best and we all got far. They were all good stories. Our teacher is proud of the class's stories and so are we.

Science

Yesturday we did science and the activities was how clean your hands are. You had to put your hands underneath a special machine and wherever the germs where there were white patches. The proper test was that we had to put fake germs on are hands and it was called glitter bug potion and we put are hands underneath the special machine and there were lots of white patches. After we washed our hands and we got an A B C and I got a B which was an ok hand washer an A was a really good hand washer and C was a really bad hand washer.

MY STORY !!!!!!!!

In year 6 we have been doing our detective stories. My story is is called the robbers. My teacher made a lot of photos. We have done this for two days. It is so much fun we had a great time. We have to put it on some card and when we were finished we read it out.

Our Christmas Story

In Yr6 Mr Clowes has wrote a Christmas Story which involves Yr3,4,5and 6. Its was exciting and funny also, its called Around the World to Bethlehem, we have lots to do in the story because it includes things such as singing and talking in different languages and lots more. Unfortunately, not all the children will be able to act in the play but luckily Mr Clowes managed to add them in by letting them sing in a different language! Some people did not want to sing in a different language " tough luck!". Without care, its really good none of the children can wait till Christmas!

Detective stories

In y6 we have been we have been writing detective stories but the way we wrote them was different to how you usually write them. This is because we wrote different parts of the story and then put them in order, so if there was something wrong , we could throw it away instead of writing it all over again. Also it definitely worked because numerous amounts of people were sent to Mr McMorrows office with their stories including me. Mine was called Sam Spade and the Missing Man.

Our first day in blog club

Our first day in blog club was cool and exciting. We enjoyed it because we could work as a team or on our own. We wrote about the science week and the first day in blog club.

Cool Science Assembly

On Wednesday we had a cool science assembly when a scientist came in and talked about changing state and showed us the different states which are solid, liquid and gas. He did different experiments. Some volunteers helped him and at the end of the assembly he did a very dangerous assembly where he put a balloon on top of like a fire extinguisher then the gas filled the balloon and it started to get bigger then all of a sudden there was a very loud bang and the balloon had popped.

Superb Science

On the 6Th October, a visitor came to our school. He was a scientist, but he didn't tell us his name though. He showed us lots of experiments with solid, liquid & gas. The last experiment was the best! The scientist inflated a ballon and seconds later...........

BBBBOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ballon exploded and everyone were really shocked and some of the children couldn't even speak! Some of the teachers were laughing after the ballon had exploded.

Cool Science

On Wednesday, 6Th October there was a man who does cool science. It was so fascinating because he was showing us how the ice was on Mars (the planet) we really enjoyed it especially at the end because he inflated the balloon with helium and showed how big it can get, So as it got bigger everyone was scared and.................................

BOOOOOOMMMM!!!!!

The balloon popped within seconds and you hear people exaggerating and shouting ahhh!!! But it was so cool and Im sure everyone enjoyed it.

Year 6 - First Thoughts

We think that year 6 so far has been fun in various ways. In Art we are doing World War 2 aircrafts in grids and main shapes of aircraft drawings. We are doing striking and fielding games in P.E such as rounders and dodge ball.

Challenges we will face in year six are the end of primary school sats. We will also like to boost our confidence in Year 6.
We raised money in our singathon for Cafod, we're raising a lot but we are still counting...

Year 6 first thoughts

The first thoughts about year 6 are amazing! 6C are reading about the book that involves going back in time. Jenny was reading a old school log that belonged to St.Gregorys. The subjects that I find very interesting are; science, maths, geography and all the other subjects. Mr.Clowes is now reading Once that a child went to a childrens Home and found a carrot in his soup!
